People tend to be like mirrors—if you shout at someone, unless they are a saint, they usually end up shouting back.
As parents, it is vital to remain cool and set a good example. Take one of the popular parenting TV programs, where you see parents yelling at the top of their voice “STOP SHOUTING!!!” We have all done this, especially when we are tired and stressed, but there is little chance of the child calming down in these situations and it is likely that the child is only copying their parents.
